Old songs, new collection. Nothing new, though.

This is not an album of singles nor is it an album of greatest hits through her career. It is, however, an album of personal love songs to Jesus. These songs are from her early career in the late '70s and early '80s. Think of it as a synopsis of her born again Christian life. Very uplifting simple songs you can sing along to. This is like an extension of her THE COLLECTION album. There really wasn't a need for this album but it's nice to have just because it's different songs in different order.
She forgot to put "El Shaddai" on here, but...

Still, not a bad lineup at all! If you're only familiar with the bouncy pop and Mrs. Vince Gill era stuff (not that there is anything wrong with that), this is a side of Amy Grant you'll be pleased to discover. The CD borrows a lot from Amy's early albums which, like many artists' early releases, contains a raw, hungry, stripped down, enthusiastic, I-can't-beleive-I'm-making-a-record-I'm-having-so-much-fun spirit that makes every song worth discovering or discovering again.
Good for What it is.

I got this CD last week and overall I like it. Sure there is no news songs on it but since it is a Greatest hits cd from Amys early years I did not expect there to be. All the songs have been remastered and sound better then the original versions of them. In the CD book there is a 4 page biography of Amys career which is also pretty cool. I say if you are a diehard fan get it to have all of Amys albums, and if you are a new fan this is a GREAT place to start!!

Over the years Amy Grant has been one of the most inspirational artists around. I love this album its a great collection of all her previous works, and best part is that it all sounds 100 times better than when they first came out. I heard her new album "Legacy..hymns & faith" off her official site, and if your in search of something trully inspirational I would suggest you get it...its really great!

Amy has been around for many years now... she has inspired people to seek within themselves... she has taught us about life, God, and love. Please know that this music is from the very beginning of her career. It has the sound of 70s and 80s because that is when she released these songs. Open your heart and your soul to what she is saying in this music.
The best yet

I highly recommend this CD for anyone interested in quality Christian music, especially those individuals who miss the quality sounds of the 1980's. This CD does include her later hits, which showcase her maturity, but some of Amy Grant's best earliest work is also included. These earlier songs show an innocence that is not often heard anymore, but this does not outdate these songs. The Christian messages they include are timeless. In such songs as "In a Little While" and "Old Man's Rubble", timeless Christian messages are presented in new and innovative ways. Her later songs, including the masterpiece "Sing your Praises to the Lord" and "Thy Word" show her talent increasing with the years. This CD is not only for Amy Grant fans, but for anyone wishing to add quality and variety to their Christian music collection.
Great CD for what it sets out to do...

This is NOT the CD you'll want to buy if you... A. Are expecting any new music (It has none.) B. Are looking for a comprehensive collection of early hits from Amy (Look for a boxed set within the next year to accomplish that goal.) C. Are looking for an album that has a logical flow or sequence (This collection was put together by RCA, who only owns the rights to some of Amy's songs. They are not all that concerned with such things.) With that said, however, this CD does indeed find its way into my CD player quite frequently. For new fans, its a neat way to see what capabilities (or at least a few of them) Amy has musically. For those of us who have been fans for awhile, it's a nice collection of songs that we love. And, yes, they've been remastered so they truly sound better than ever.... Thanks for reading, Chad

This is the type of album that leaves me singing the tunes after I finished listening to it.
